TOTo pizza + Banquet hall

Villa Firenze is a small family owned restaurant with a 25 year history in Bridgeland. They also offer event space attached to the restaurant in a 1,400 square foot banquet hall. The owner approached our team with a big task… How can we create a new pizzeria concept within the existing event space that can be converted to a banquet hall for events.

With flexibility of the space being the key driver, Block designed custom movable millwork panels that hang from two new beams. This allows the large open space to be transformed into a smaller space for the Pizzeria. It also allows for a more intimate environment for each table and creates a completely new atmosphere in the space giving Toto Pizza its own identity. When the space is converted back into the Banquet Hall the panels are hung on a rail around the perimeter of the space or can be placed as requested by the event host. Stackable furniture as well as table bases that allow for the larger banquet rounds to be placed on top increase the flexibility of the space. Existing details were re-used and re-finished to be mindful of cost but most importantly, to maintain some of the existing character of the space.

The result is a welcoming and classic space that creates a backdrop for both home style Italian pizza as well as the excitement of a great event.
